Juan Tobon

Juan Tobon started his musical studies at the age of 13 taking private Piano lessons; he would later attend to the Music conservatory in his hometown to work with renounded pianist Lena Konovodova; focusing on classical literature from Bach to Rachmaninoff. He played with different projects in Medellin until he traveled to Miami to perform with his own band Santtos: at this point he would decide to move to Orlando, FL to study Jazz. Juan has attended to Valencia College, University of Central Florida, and Florida International University. He has been stuying under the names of teachers such as Chris Davids, Richard Drextler, Michael Orta , Gary Campbell, and Kemal Gecik. He has recoded on different albums with Emy winner Brian Tarquin, and a Brazilian project with Sergio Hazam as well as worked with Peruvian artist such as Tony Succar. He has also released his own Piano project where he recorded 5 tracks representing his life. Juan is an FIU graduate and is currently working as the accompanist for the Vocal Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dr Lisanne Lyons.
